Patio Is Open!

One of our local marinas has a very popular waterside patio restaurant which of course has been closed during the COVID lockdowns, but now with restrictions lifted somewhat, it is open for business. It is amazing how such a simple thing can be so uplifting! The marina's restaurant is a favourite of cottagers in the area. It is situated on the mainland so customers can drive to it by car or come by boat, which is a real convenience for us!  It has great food and a huge TV screen lest you miss the latest sports scores or events. The TV screen is unusual in that it is on a raft out in the water!  Anyway, it was our plan to go there for dinner tonight and celebrate the opportunity to eat out again.  It really was not the best weather for outdoor dining; it had been a really cloudy dull day with some very feisty howling winds -  and to add to the dreary day, those high winds actually blew down a big pine tree at my brother's cottage this afternoon...luckily, no damage.  It did not fall on the cottage itself, but close to it! Then almost at dinner time, the rain started, but my daughter and S-I-L are not easily deterred by such things...Outdoor dining in the rain? No problem. My brother declined to join us, but I was persuaded to go despite the rain and I had a lovely time..Our table turned out to be under a roof, so all was well, and a day that did not have much promise  ended on a high note. Here's to patio dining... even in the rain - and to more lifted restrictions..
