Problem solved maybe
You might recall that the decking around our summerhouse was complete a couple of months ago. We have had some problems since then. The most serious problem, one that stopped us using most of the day , was that it was just far far to hot. No shade and no wind made it unbearable.
We have been looking at various options, some impractical, some too expensive and others simply ridiculous. The best option we found was a cantilever umbrella, nice looking but expensive. So we made the decision to just wait, see how things go and do something about it next year.
This was discussed during our meal yesterday evening in Norwich and we reached the definite decision to do nothing yet. So obviously this morning I phoned up and bought it.
Whilst the 3 metre cream coloured umbrella is the part that catches the eye the most extraordinary part is on the ground, a 90 kilo lump of granite acting as a counterweight. It was loaded up for us in the garden centre but when we got home I could not move this out of the car, needed D2 to help. She got it out no trouble, she also got the instructions and the tools and put it together. So win win for me.
Needless to say it has now started to rain and is noticeably colder so the new umbrella will probably be more decorative than practical for a few days.
