Bus Pass Walk
7 Bus Pass Walkers caught the bus to Eldwick today and walked through fields and woodland and along the canal. A wonderfully varied route ending up at the 5 Rise Locks Cafe in Bingley for refreshments. Lovely long range views and certain obstacles en route including 3 horses blocking the pathway as we approached Micklethwaite. The tiny Shetland pony had his head resting right on the stile and refused to move, so I had to get hold of him and do some pushing to move him away - avoiding the biting and kicking ends as Shetlands can be quite feisty! He was quite resistant at first - think we had disturbed his siesta! Lovely walk along the canal which was quite busy at the moorings by the locks - lots of “double parking”! As always, amused by the names of some of the narrowboats - “Trouble at t’mill” was seen along with regulars like “Are we there yet” and this one pictured - “Mr Grumpy”. No owner to be seen, but the chap on the narrow boat alongside said it could refer to him - don’t think so as he was very smiley! Nice refreshments at the cafe then bus home. Lovely walk on a warm sunny day. Sorry about yet another collage, but out of extras and don’t want to recycle any yet!
