Nick brings his cobbled together brazier up to the house. Angus and Ferdi arrive with veg from Sainsburys. I knock together a salad.

The fire is laden with potatoes, sweet corn, garlic, peppers, and lamb fillet.

We sit in the sun, replete, until the boys head off to sort out their sound system. The sun drops below the poplars and nighttime chill drives me indoors.
