The 2 hour - no 4 hour walk!

We decided to take the morning off work and walk. I wanted to get up into the high fells - it has been awhile, with a knee operation and covid restrictions. Steve meanwhile had to be on the road by 3.30 for an appointment so we looked for a walk that was a good two hours - allowing us lunch, a swim and not rushing get there and get back times.

We ended up doing the Hayeswater Horseshoe ( I am not even sure if there is such a walk!) but we went around Hayeswater in a horseshoe shape.

It was beautiful and invigorating and my lungs were beating like the buggery going up and I questioned why we were there. But High Street was wonderful and fast and the views were amazing and even if we couldn't stop for lunch because at this time we knew it was no two hour walk - I was still loving it.

Then we went downhill - oh my, it was steep - toes trying to come out your boot end steep - absolutely brutal. 

And it was a good four hours and we had to race back so Steve could get to his appointment on time (and my work Zoom call) but it was brilliant - just magical!
