St Abbs Head

We travelled further up the coast to St Abbs Head today. The weather was at its best in order to enjoy the scenery. Although busy it wasn’t uncomfortable in terms of social distancing and the majority chose our preferred route. 

It had lots to commend it with fine coastal views, interesting geology, sea birds nesting on the precipitous cliffs and a small harbour to explore. See the extra.

The main is a photo at Petticoat Wick with views of the greywacke cliffs and the folds eroded by the sea. Most of the headland was formed out of lavas. Took me back to A-level Geology. A delightful walk just forgot my swimming gear for a dip in one of the coves! Maybe next time!
