Last Walk
Home today.
We packed up and headed off at the crack of eleven! Rather than driving straight across to the motorway we went cross-country again before getting on the A1M at Darlington. It was lovely!
Trying to find a McDonalds to stop at on the M1 was like trying to find gas the other day. I don't think there was a service station between Leeds and Nottingham that we didn't try. I thought I'd found one on Apple Maps but the stupid map doesn't automatically show straight on as up so rather than left at the next roundabout it was right at the roundabout we'd just passed!!! Mr K may have rolled his eyes. I told him it was stupid and the way you're going on a map is always up......
Having stopped at one services for the loo and then another to get the Little Misses a snack - as they were apparently about to die of starvation! - we eventually made it to Tibshelf Services and McDonalds. Whoop whoop!
We sat in the back of Marshall and ate it off plates. We're so posh!!
Then it was home.
We had been timing our journey to get home for our Tesco delivery at 5pm but they rang when we were halfway home to say there was a driver shortage and it would have to be delivered tomorrow. Annoying!
It started chucking it down around the Watford Gap and carried on all the way home. We've been so lucky with the weather on our holiday!
As we were home earlier than normal we were uncharacteristically good and, despite the rain, brought everything in from Marshall. Laundry, clothes, food from the fridge, stuff for the dishwasher, toiletries, towels....... Normally we leave it all out there, bringing it in in dribs and drabs and just making more work for ourselves the next time we go away.
We were smug!!
