Queenslanders

There is a specific type of housing that is typical of Queensland. They were mainly timber and built up high to promote air flow and to keep people as cool as possible. We passed through Maryborough which had them lining the streets so I took a few blips from the car. Many are very gracious dwellings.

The landscape if from our campsite. It is very private, only us and our relatives, Carol and Graham around. It is so remote there are no roads on our car navigation or the Google maps. We ended up going around in circles along narrow winding dirt roads. By the time we got here we were feeling rather stressed. Our rels have an off road mapping system for remote places so they came to rescue us. We must have taken 20 wrong turns and with a van on behind it is not easy to turn around and retrace your steps.

It didn’t take long to set up camp and they ( C & G) provided a delicious dinner of lamb shanks that they did in a cooker on the coals from a fire. We are all tired and have gone to bed early.  When we are together we take turns cooking.
