Quartermile

A short run this morning through the University of Edinburgh buildings and then back along the Meadows in front of the Quartermile apartments which was the old Royal Infirmary Hospital until 2001.  Apparently the name comes from the fact it is a quarter mile from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile and measures a quarter mile from corner to corner.  

A quick visit to the allotment in the afternoon to do some watering and harvest the strawberries (three punnets today!).  

Bowls this evening away to Tanfield in the league.  We lost 16 - 14 but our other team won.
