Nunnington Hall

A rainy solstice morning led us to a trip to Nunnington Hall near Helmsley . First we stopped for a coffee at Danby bakery . It’s so friendly and cosy there ! We had a picnic by the River Rye at Nunnington and then spent all afternoon in the wonderful organic gardens . We didn’t have to book which was a bonus as I really do find that off putting . We were fortunate to be able to catch the Head Gardener who let us ask lots of questions and ended up giving us a plant for our garden . It’s a really special NT garden and was very pleasant . Unfortunately we didn’t get time for the house so we’ll save that for our next visit ! The peacocks were strutting about and calling eerily which added to the atmosphere.
