Lapwing

We spent most of the afternoon at a friend’s house in Pool in Wharfedale - I haven’t seen them for a good many years although she’s had a big operation recently. It was great to catch up . 
Afterwards, we drove over to the North York Moors where we normally stay in October . Lovely to see it in the Sumner .
We are bowled over by the numbers of curlew and lapwing round the farm where we stay . 
After the long walk yesterday and chatting today, we were both exhausted so very pleased to get to bed fairly promptly !
