A planned walk with friends near Dunblane had to be cancelled due to the torrential rain with so much fast flowing water along the roads. Fortunately Pitlochry seemed to escape most of the downpours so we managed a short walk later through the woods. Dunblane Bridge replaced the ferry boat on the Tay over 200 years ago enabling stage coaches to travel from Inverness to places in central Scotland and beyond.
