Father’s Day

Another Father’s Day has come around without you two
Remembering not just my dear Dad, but Mr. B’s one too.
Though full of years, we wish you both had lived a little longer
So each could see your dear grandchild grow cleverer and stronger.
Both married now, and one himself a father too,
To pass along to his own child the wisdom learnt from you.

Now I love bees, and both of you loved gardening yourself,
Till it became too difficult with age and failing health.
I wish you both were here today to see this pretty snap.
It’s for you both, dear Ted and Jim. Both such a lovely chap.
