House martins

Before the plague struck the world, I used to go to the market town of Ringwood once a week.
Now I use Zoom instead!
 
Every year the town is frequented by house martins returning from Sub Saharan Africa to breed here.
 
I missed them last year so went back today just to check on them.
 
There they all were, wheeling in the skies above catching insects by the beakful and some using the same nests as before.
 
They have quite a complex social structure and although they mate for life, they are not always "faithful "
 
I was surprised to see what looked like four adults feeding the young in this nest 
 
You can see three birds in flight plus one upside down in the nest presumably feeding the young inside.
