Despite a cold and grey day there were a few bees on the flowers this morning. This honey bee and ant are on an Iris that has appeared in the garden over the last couple of years. It's an Iris Foetidissima 'Citrina' but It's common name is 'Stinking Iris' or 'Roast Beef plant', as the leaves when crushed, give off a beefy smell. It's evergreen, I like it and I'm not likely to crush the leaves intentionally so it can stay in the garden.
The temperature has been 13 degrees today, 16 degrees lower than on Wednesday.
