Seeds of things to come

A big thankyou for this blip to Pomona - the seeds come from a mighty copper beech beside her house, and they were so fascinating that I couldn't resist blipping them today. Copper Beech (Fagus sylvatica purpurea) takes a long time to produce seeds, so these are the long-awaited sources of the line's continuation. The cupule with all its straggly hairs and the 2 seeds inside, itching to get out into the world - wow!
