Green
I happened on this quote today.
‘A small mountain of studies in the field of nature science has repeatedly confirmed that the sheer sight of green – plants, leaves, trees, views from windows – can make us happier and healthier.’ (Julia Baird, Phosphorescence. Fourth Estate, 2020.)
I certainly think being surrounded by green has helped us through Covid isolation so far, and the thought of future trips into larger green expanses is sustaining us now. So to celebrate that, here’s an unremarkable green blip, taken (again) on the morning walk along the golf course.
Actually there is one slightly remarkable thing about this blip. If you look carefully you can see that one of the gum trees in the middle distance appears to be on fire. Green magic?
