Take nothing but photos.....

As we ended our walk today there was a long line of painted pebbles which, we guess, were decorated by the local school or college, there were many very positive little pebbles. This one caught my attention.

We started in Grantown on Spey and walked through more Caledonian Forest before coming to Cromdale Church on the banks of the River Spey. It was an idyllic spot for lunch with wild lupins covering the bank. (See extra but for a lovely photo of them see RF's entry)

Afterwards we looked around the churchyard to find lots of Grants, Stuart's and other typical Scottish names.

Stopping for a later snack we saw a weasel running across the path with either prey or a baby weasel in its mouth.

The walk continued along the river bank until it diverted onto the old military road and back to the start. Another great walk.

Back at the lodge quite early we had a cuppa then walked into Carrbridge and around some of the Carr Plantation before getting back to cook beef goulash with local Highland beef, very nice meat.

Tomorrow we leave here for part 2.
