Temple Bar

This is Temple Bar. It marks the boundary  between the City of London and the City of Westminster. There used to be an arched gateway there designed by Sir Christopher Wren, which was removed to a Hertfordshire estate in the mid-19th century because it was too much of a pitchpoint for the heavy traffic along the Strand and Fleet Street. It was brought back to the City in recent years and re-erected at Paternoster Square next to St Paul's Cathedral.
