It's been a bracing day for a walk by the ocean on the Moeraki peninsula. Rare patches of sun appeared between cold heavy showers.

On Barracuda Beach we spotted this fur seal pup safe and sound between rocks. Then an adult popped its head up in the surf: possibly its mother waiting to feed it, so we didn't linger.
