Sunset surfer
Even more unlocked
We had a lovely day. We cycled to the ‘ Blue Lagoon’ old quarry workings on the seashore at Abereiddy which have created a big deep pool of cold blue water. Very popular with people who like jumping off high cliffs into cold water. We just watched.
After a picnic lunch on the flower strewn cliff tops we cycled a bit farther to Porthgain. This is a harbour where the slate quarried at Abereiddy was shipped out. There are lots of interesting ruined buildings and quarry workings in the area. It was only about sixteen miles but plenty of ups and downs and hilly bits.
This evening we walked down to the beach at Whitesands to watch the surfers. Last night’s sunset was much more spectacular but colourful enough this evening.
