Meet Elmer’s elephants

These elephants are part of Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade which takes you on a trail around the ‘beautiful County Town of Kent” All the colourful elephants were created by Maidstone’s primary schools. It’s all part of an event to raise the profile of and raise money for the Heart of Kent Hospice.Visit: https://elmermaidstone.co.uk

We all walked into town this morning to return some books to the library, take in some lunch and do a bit of shopping. It was while in town we saw the best and the worst! The best are these elephants, the worst was challenging a young person who tossed a burger and it’s box into the River Medway. “It’s only a burger” he said.

Some excellent news today regarding the allotment fight. The local Downsmail and Kent Messenger both ran articles on the issue and we obtained documentary proof that the trees on the proposed site for the new allotments are protected by a tree preservation order.

It appears the Council are rattled as they posted a Facebook page trying to play down the furore by saying much information and rumour around Project A “is untrue and unfounded” I replied to their post by saying that it was a classic example of Load…. Fire …. Aim… and is so doing the Council had shot themselves in the foot by not consulting and failing to do thorough research before launching their plan to the public.

In other news, we’re off on the first stage of our much awaited trip to the Lakes. We’ll leave around 7.00pm tomorrow and stay overnight in Northampton before continuing on to the Lakes on Saturday morning.

Hope to see some of you on a Blipmeet on Tuesday 22nd July at the National Trust site at Fell Foot. See this link for details: https://blipfoto.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/community/posts/360015943038/comments/360004207857?mobile_site=true
