More neighbour thoughts

The family next door were here before us but now they’re moving out of London.

The mother asked me to move my car this morning, so I obviously did. She came out and thanked me and added, “one more thing, can we take the fence down and move our hot tub out through your garden. We haven’t told our buyers that we’re taking it but I want to”.

They’ve come through our garden before, causing all kinds of mayhem and damage by diggers and heavy machinery. If I were to agree to her request, I’d have had to spend the whole day moving things out of the way, as a hot tub is so heavy, it’s moved on rollers. And we’d have had to trample down all the wild flowers growing at the end of the garden. It would be a horrendous waste and destruction.

I didn’t say ‘no’ outright, I just told her how sad I’d be and wished she’d asked before today. I’ve now felt guilty all day but she’s not come back with any other plan.
