Hawkers hut!

We had a bit of a chilled day and stayed local to the cottage at Morwenstow. You can get onto the coastal path from the church. We had a wonder o
Along to the national trusts smallest property, Hawkers Hut. (Extra photo is the outside) It was built by an eccentric parson who appointed himself as a watch for wrecked ships. He would make sure any drowned sailors were taken to his church for a Christian burial. He would often dress as a mermaid, wore a purple coat and sat in the hut he made from drift wood smoking opium. Oh and wore a seaweed wig!
The coast line is spectacular and dramatic, I guess on wild stormy days not so exciting to walk along the cliff path!
After a bimble along the flatter part we planned to go for a cream tea at the tearooms next to the church but it was full so we went to the pub instead! A very pleasant lunch and pint of Rattler and we came back for a snooze!
