Ted at the Cotton Mill Village.

After the very, very sad funeral today we came back to the hotel and had a walk around.

New Lanark Village is an impressive cotton mill village and was founded in 1785. It quickly became known all over the world under the enlightened management of social pioneer Robert Owen. He provided decent homes, fair wages, free health care, a new education system for villagers and the first workplace nursery school in the world.

After our walk we had a swim in the lovely hotel pool before having a drink (thinking of Sammy) and a lovely meal.
