Whittle Jet Engine
This is a jet engine designed by Whittle in 1947, so it is not the famous one that was in the Gloster Meteor. This was apparently used by students in the 1950s to learn about jet engines, and it was fired up on such occasions. Now it sits in a hall of old engines at the University. Was in the University for a change as we had the public PhD defence of one of our students.
