Pi Day, not Pie Day

Today is pi day. 03.14, get it? Neither did the math department head who was counting on me to provide a 360 degree confection. After work, I made lemon pie filling from scratch, then baked a crust. When I took it out, the sides dropped and slid into the bottom, like some sort of farinaceous landslide. Undaunted, I did a second crust. This time I made the sides a little sturdier and really rolled the dough over the edge of the pan. Finally, I weighted the bottom with beans. As soon as the dough heated...Well, you can see the results.
