Poppy Field Destruction

Walked past this poppy field close to us the other day and it was resplendent in red.  Resolved to take the new camera back (EOS R6) for some images later today and saw this morning that the farmer is in the process of cutting it.  Destruction on a grand scale, why can't they wait until us Landscape photographers have filled our boots with images and the poppies have died off!
