MonoMonday: Just a steady pull...

Majoayee is hosting MM today, with the theme of "steady". This ringed plover is taking it steady as he pulls his lunch out of the sand. (OK, I confess: I thought of this link to the challenge after taking the photo, not before!)

We came across it during an outing to Beadnell Bay with Son#2: there's a roped off area where shorebirds are nesting (mainly terns and ringed plovers) so I needed my long lens. It wasn't as hot as it has been for the last few days and the wind was quite strong but we had a lovely walk along the beach to Low Newton and back and ate our picnic lunch in a sheltered spot in the dunes.

We do love our Northumberland beaches: as you can see from the panorama shot in the extra it wasn't exactly crowded - social distancing wasn't a problem!
