A room with a view

Leaving delightfully hot and sunny Charfield we made quick time down to Devon.

Janet wanted to visit a sculpture park we’d last seen around eighteen years ago, when it first opened. Imagine our surprise to find it untouched since then. The same items, now faded, entwined with wildflowers and long grass.

Then down to our customary sea view camp site on the cliffs overlooking Lee bay. Well, it’s there somewhere. The temperature is ten degrees chillier here but that’s ok because I always keep some warm wear in the camper wardrobe. Except Janet has tidied it out.

Ok. Beer o’clock. We sit next to a table of young folk dressed for winter, who had been wild swimming. They smile at us and say “it’s not warm is it”.

“Oh it’s fine,” says Janet, “I don’t mind it colder. I often do number two in the shower”… I don’t think they made the leap to the digital temperature controller in the en suite.  They left.

Wish you were here.  ;-)
