DIESEL DO . . .
Bike Ride Monday . . . thanks to T . . . and more explorations of Victorian Railway sites. This is again the area of the old Seamer Junction Signal Box, where the main York to Scarborough line and the Scarborough to Hull lines merge.
Main image shows the Trans-Pennine Service from York to Scarborough, being pulled by locomotive 68033. This was added to the fleet in April 2020 and pulls a five-car rake of Mark5A coaches, with the driving trailer at the front for a change. Class 68 trains were made for Direct Rail UK by Stadler Rail, a Swiss Company.
Extra shows this train disappearing on the left and the return train to York on the right. This time being pulled by a Class 185 Desiro Class diesel multiple-unit of 3 coaches.
Just to add interest, the train from Hull had just passed by. Hope everyone is OK.
