Roly's Life

Garden Party

Woke feeling hivey - a big patch on my left thigh. Hot, itchy, painful and spreading. Throw in a hint of general ‘under the weather’ and that summed up my day. I did not very much at all but that did include lying in the hammock, in the shade, watching the goings on on Flightradar24.

At one point there was a lot of beeping/cheering so we had a quick nose - the flags showed them to be Tigray Supporters/Protestors. There’s been a lot going on in town and in the beaches, we’ve stayed clear. Part of me feels I should go and see it all happening as it’s unlikely this type of circus will come to these parts again in my lifetime. But equally, the Covid rates have shot up in the past week with several pubs and cafes closing due to positive tests. Given my temperamental immune system, I’m probably better off staying at home!

Anyway, this evening we headed away from Falmouth to friends in Penryn. It meant I missed the Red Arrows fly past though. Worth it though for the company, although slightly disappointing that the member of our little group who did 3(?) seasons as a blue overall wearer didn’t put in a word for them to give us a personal fly past…
