Latest block layout

My ongoing quilting has ground to a halt while I wait for some funds to purchase my background fabric, so I have started this new project. I really enjoyed the machine appliqué when I made my Hearts snd Gizzards quilt, so I thought I would have another go. The ‘cacti’ fabric is ‘Animal crackers’ from Moda fabrics an early Anniversary present from Mr U&L but the jury is out on the flower pots as I think they overwhelm the lovely subtle colours of the cacti and should be wider and shorter - what do you think?? My background fabric for this one is an old sheet from the charity shop - beautiful cotton and just £2.50! A bargain!
On another note entirely, I looked up at my window today to see a young rat climbing up the curtain!! No doubt a ‘gift’ from Percy!! Luckily it fell to the floor, and ran into my rolled up rug so we were able to just open the door and put the rug out - whereupon it scampered off at speed!! We then had to wipe surfaces down with bleach -? Thank you cat!!
