North Stream drainage ditch, Sandwich Bay

A fine day out from Sandwich, with Barbara and David, walking from the town along the River Stour to Pegwell Bay and the Sandwich Bay Estate before turning inland to walk back to Sandwich across the marsh passing several drainage channels filled with fish and water flowers. Shame about the wires.

We had coffee and scone at a very pleasant cafe in Sandwich before setting off and lunch sitting on the beach looking over Pegwell Bay and Ramsgate.

A super evening once back with drinks and nibbles, in the lowering evening sun, in the back garden. Then an aubergine bake with salad and garlic bread, ice cream, coffee, chocolate and a wee dram to round off the evening.
