The aftermath

Very enjoyable catch up with friends in the garden.  One couple agreed to take the remains of the coffee cake home as they are having teenage grandchildren round tomorrow - much better that they consume it and not me, although some chocolate brownies are still left.
Thinking of unpacking my electric fan to keep me cool tomorrow, but don't want to tempt fate.
Another friend rang to say the partner of her grandaughter has just had a heart transplant.  He is only 27 with a 3 month old baby and has  been  on the list for about three weeks as an urgent case after collapsing whilst out shopping.   Unfortunately it meant that his life has been saved through the death of a 20 year old stabbing victim.  His family are so grateful for such a wonderful gift from other grieving parents.
