The accidental finding

Strawberry season

We had an excessive amount of strawberries, and Steve said they had to be eaten before they went off. I decided to Google gluten-free strawberry shortcake, because I thought it was a kind of shortbread. Of course, the shortcake turns out to be similar to what I'd call a scone. And I made my first ever successful gluten free scones! I sandwiched the scone halves together with yoghurt and strawberries. In the end it was neither a US strawberry shortcake nor a West Country cream tea, but who cares? I'll have some more tomorrow.

Today's market was good for sales. Stroud is enjoying a wave of casual visitors, attracted by the Sunday Times' assertion that Stroud is the best town in the UK to live! They had good weather for their day trips, and we were back in time for the footie.

Unfortunately just before hslf-time, the Danish captain and superstar, Kristian Eriksson, suddenly collapsed on the field and had to be resuscitated and taken to hospital. The players were in tears. It was all so sudden and unexpected. Later we heard that he was in a stable condition, and the players had chosen to resume the match. Unfortunately for Denmark, the team was defeated by the outsiders, Finland.
