Corstorphine Hill
The Saturday Strollers walking group hit the road again today after a considerable break due to Covid restrictions. We enjoyed our route through Saughton Park Gardens (which were looking fabulous) then skirting Carrick Knowe Golf Course and onto Corstorphine Hill from where you get great views back to the city. The Corstorphine Hill Tower is on the summit. It was built in 1871 as a viewpoint and memorial to Sir Walter Scott, 100 years after his birth. It's built of local stone and an internal staircase goes up to a viewing platform.
We headed to the allotment late afternoon to put protection around and over the strawberries before they start ripening up.
