A quiet day with some gardening this morning, then I sat out in the garden reading. I did come in to watch the French Open final - I was pleased to see the unseeded Barbora Krejcikova win after never giving up to get through her semi-final. A wonderful match between Nadal and Djokovic last night, I wanted Nadal to win, but he was a step too slow at times which led to a few more unforced errors than Djokovic, but it was definitely one of the highest quality matches I've ever seen. I'd like to see Tsitsipas win tomorrow.

Day 453 / Day 27 of Step 3 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
Boris says that yes we're looking at an increase in cases and in hospitalisations, but that scientists don't think there's a need for going into reverse. The speculation is that on Mon we'll be told that Step 4 will be delayed by a month to get more of the population fully vaccinated. For the 2nd year, a mini Trooping the Colour took place at Windsor incorporating COVID restrictions. Excellent news today of Damehoods for Kate Bingham (Chair for the work in 2020 of the Vaccine Taskforce -unpaid) and Professor Sarah Gilbert (co-designer of the Oxford-AZ vaccine). Lots of others involved in the science around the pandemic were recognised too as well as community volunteers.
