The fence to replace the hedge at the front of the house was due to be replaced this afternoon. So final bits of the hedge removed and off to the recycling centre.

However, the blacksmith’s van was stuck in the garage for repairs so now due to be fitted Saturday morning.

I decided that the silver birch presented to us by friends for our silver wedding 9 years ago was getting too high and, if I was going to lop it, it would be better to do so before the new fence went in. The delay gave me time to do that!

We tied the rope to my wife’s Rollator (with her on it) and the top fell the right way. Not on to her or onto the cars in the street! The dog had much fun rummaging around in the branch - which seems a lot taller on the ground than in the air!
