Sleepy little collie & G7

Went out for a couple of hours this afternoon and I was so tired when I got home that I just flopped down and went straight to sleep. Ann doesn't know why I'm so tired because I didn't even get let off my lead for run about time. We're gradually working through our 'bus route project'. Today we jumped on a number 29 bus and went to its terminus at Silverknowles and walked home mainly via the 'shared pathways'. The 'shared pathways' were actually quite quiet today but I still had to stay on my lead because cyclists creep up on us unexpectedly and they hardly ever ring their bells; that's if they got one. We think bells on bikes should be mandatory. 'Shared pathways' mean exactly that – they're shared! Grrrrrrrrr..................

…................And in other news....................... First day of the G7 summit in St Ives (our other home) and we've seen a lot of reports on social media of it taking people more than 3 hours to drive what is normally a 10 min journey, due to diversions/roadblocks etc. And there's been protesters/demonstrations re saving the planet in town. Obviously this is not good for locals having to get to work etc. However, Ann really wishes she was there to soak up the atmosphere. Originally (before we even knew G7 was happening) we were going to spend the whole of June in Cornwall as we had a wedding to go to. But then COVID happened and we got locked down AGAIN and the wedding got postponed till 2022 so Ann said, 'Trixie, let's just try and get a bit of money in from holiday makers for a couple of months and then go back for a month before the schools break up.' So that is what we're doing.

Apparently all the G7 delegates are having dinner at the Eden Project tonight. No doubt that will cause A LOT of disruption on the A30?!! Oh and they're having a BBQ on the beach tomorrow night with a fly past from the Red Arrows.

Logistically normal life is an absolute nightmare for all the residents of St Ives/Carbis Bay but it certainly has put Cornwall on the map. Here we are in Edinburgh, more than 600 miles away, and every time an aerial view of St Ives comes onto the TV we can see our house.

Very proud that the little town that we have called home for almost 20 years is hosting such a major international event.
