Chain bridge

Today we drove to Melrose. After a wander round the town and some lunch we walked along the River Tweed, following the route of the Borders Abbeys Way, from Melrose to Abbotsford House and back - 8 miles round trip. It’s a beautiful walk and Abbotsford House, home of Sir Walter Scott, is well worth a visit. Just outside Melrose is this bridge across the River Tweed known locally as the Chain Bridge. In the background of the photo are the Eildin Hills.
