I know that for many they just want to see the back of the Covid pandemic, and the government’s rhetoric - vaccinations being a “passport to freedom”, “freedom day” happening on the 21st - has fed a general sense that we are through the worst. The last 15 months have seemed never ending, people just want to move on to “normality”. From the perspective of those who have been shielding however it isn’t quite so “straightforward”.

We certainly continue to be very careful. In this part of the world infection rates are now rocketing up again exponentially as the more transmissible delta variant of the virus takes hold. Hopefully we’d get a milder form of Covid symptoms if we caught it - but better not to find out if that’s the case and to avoid infection (which is a must for J anyway) in the first place. That’s our unfiltered view.
