Noel at Ninety

Today was all about my father-in-law's ninetieth birthday, and it was grand to see him today along with all his children and partners, and some of the grands too. In the extra you'll find several Blippers... in fact thinking about it there are eight! I wonder if you can work them all out?

Ridiculously, I have had to dodge my face a little! It doesn't take a lot of sunshine before I adopt my (presumed) Southern European heritage, and the hat didn't help. Amazingly though I didn't need to open anyone's eyes in post-processing - the shot was taken by one of the care assistants.

We all kept well back from Noel, of course, and wore facemarks except for the set up group photo. Hygiene and sanitising was paramount; we'd like perhaps a few more birthdays yet. Noel really does seem happy in his care home and the staff appeared very friendly, and even baked the birthday cake for him.

Afterward, we adjourned to Sheol and Cathy's for a barbecue, and I'll save you from any of the shots I took there, which were far more informal. I know they'll be awfully grateful. In a lifestyle which seems recently to have become very slow, today has been a welcome, busy and dare I say a delightfully tiring day!
