Well Red

With thick mist and rain the signs did not look good this morning for a visit to the Garden House. Located about 10 miles from Plymouth, The Garden House is historically the home of the vicars of Buckland Monachoram, and a house for the parish priest has occupied a site here since the early 14th century. In the 1940s the house and gardens were bought by Lionel and Katherine Fortescue who set about transforming them into what is claimed to be one of the finest gardens in Britain. Three of us met at the house and gardens with our cameras to try and capture some of the beauty to be found here. This was one of my last images of the day. The weather did improve a little but remained overcast and misty. It did give the gardens though a special quality and a more subtle and defused light.
