Winter Hill

Taken from Worthington Lakes in Standish, and because I had the zoom lens on, I was able to make out quite a bit of detail, including what I would otherwise not have seen, Rivington Pike with people in the near distance, looking much closer to the TV masts than it actually is!!
The main mast, erected in 1966, is 310m tall and 2.75m thick, standing on a hill 778m above sea level, making it the highest transmitting antenna in the UK.
