Blasted Heath

This was an un-Dorset-like scene; returning home from Beaminster the long way, I climbed into cloud and stopped to take an atmospheric photo.  The wind was up, it was wet and the visibility had decreased drastically (obviously), so it had to be the monochrome treatment.

Talking to the locals (people who have been here more than a couple of years) it seems that Corscombe can quite easily be clamped in snow while Beaminster escapes the worst.  I'm looking forward to winter, now that we have a house that is easy to heat and for which draughts are a foreign language :-)
