A visit to Chichester - Day 1
A two day trip to Chichester to visit the Pallant House Gallery for a really interesting exhibition of paintings by Degas, Cezanne, Matisse and Picasso.
I was well worth the trip, but what amused us was the graffiti street art around the town. I was very taken with this little child loosing their EU balloon, interesting dog, and a "kill the bill".
There was also a statue of Horatio Nelson and his good friend George Murray, who missed the Battle of Trafalgar because he was sorting out his father-in-law's estate. He eventually becamse a Rear Admiral and then Mayor of Chichester.
Finally, along East Street was this recent bench sculpture. On a lot of the pieces of metal that make up the person are the names of individuals and professions. I liked the inscription too.
More plans for tomorrow!
