That Fateful Night

I walk regularly along a little access road, not far from home. It is bound on one side by high meadows and on the other there are natural woodlands. A short distance along this road you arrive upon a beautiful little memorial stone. 

Matthew Sadlier boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger (ticket number 367655 which cost £7, 14s, 7d) and was travelling to Lakewood, New Jersey to his brother Thomas. Matthew Sadlier died in the sinking and his body, if recovered, was never identified. He was 19 years old.  Further Information >>
