Seaham Harbour Pubs The Golden Lion.

One of the first buildings to be completed in the newly augured 1828 Seaham Harbour, The Golden Lion survived in name until 2007.  It was situated next to the New Theatre Royal (closed 1961, demolished 1975) and both buildings used similar architectural styles.  It opened and close under different guises from 2007 (including the Lion name) until 2013 then closed completely.  It was originally  known as The Golden Anchor and is stood in Green Street.

In the 1900’s a rumour persisted about two deceased children, a brother and sister seen running in the corridors.
