Kenneth Fearing

This portrait of Kenneth Fearing comes from the marvelous Alice Neel show that is now up in New York. Fearing was mainly known to his mid-twentieth-century contemporaries as a poet, but to me he is famous as the author of the wonderfully written, brilliantly constructed mystery The Big Clock.
